Since Trinity Academy Grammar opened our mission has been centred on transformation. The one central pillar to everything that we do is our belief and commitment to our values of empathy, honesty, respect and responsibility.

These form the backbone of our approach; they determine our actions and the way we behave.
We are committed to ensuring that every person who engages with our academy has an experience in line with our values. It is our intention that, through our work, every member of our community grows, whether that be through students leaving us with a fantastic set of results or staff receiving the correct support, nurture and guidance to achieve what they want from their careers.

I feel privileged to lead this academy; to work with our incredible staff and impact the lives of the students that we educate. Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. I hope you have been able to get a sense of who we are, how we run our academy and what we want to achieve as a community. If you would like further information on any particular area please feel free to get in touch; our door is always open.

Senior Vice Principal - Student Support

As Senior Vice Principal, I am responsible for leading the pastoral system, ensuring that students are safe and supported to realise their potential both academically and socially.

As Senior Vice Principal, I am responsible for leading the pastoral system, ensuring that students are safe and supported to realise their potential both academically and socially.

This includes ensuring all students receive a strong behaviour and attendance curriculum; we understand that students come from a range of starting points, and it is my responsibility to ensure that they are given the knowledge and skills to flourish in their futures.

Where students meet our high expectations, it is my responsibility to make sure students are praised and rewarded; we want all our students to feel valued for the positive contributions they make to our community.

We are an inclusive school which ensures all students are understood and supported, regardless of their background, special educational need or disability. Part of my role is to ensure that all staff know our students well so that they can be supported. Our bespoke curriculum caters for the range of needs of our students and it is my job to ensure that this knowledge is implemented well both inside and outside the classroom.

The quality of teaching and learning is paramount to the success of any school. My role, at Trinity Academy Grammar, is to ensure that our teaching constantly strives to transform the lives of our students. We believe passionately that teachers are seen as the experts in their subject; that they are strong role models of literacy; that they focus on recall of prior knowledge as well as acquiring and integrating new knowledge; that no learning time is wasted by having consistent routines and that teaching is fully responsive identifying misconceptions accurately as well as providing clear, direct feedback.

We achieve this by engaging with a wide range of CPD opportunities underpinned by the latest academic research, which meet the needs of staff at varying career stages and all of which provide staff with regular opportunities to reflect on their practice, thus creating a culture of continual self-improvement.

Another significant strand of my role is to lead on the quality assurance processes. These include Teaching & Learning data collections, standards visits and curriculum reviews including lesson visits, work scrutiny and staff and student voice. All of these elements enable us to regularly measure the quality and impact of teaching and learning on student achievement and support us in achieving our goal of transforming the lives of our students.

Assistant Principal - Curriculum

Enabling students to access a broad, balanced and rich curriculum, which opens doors to further opportunities, is a key part of my role as Assistant Principal.

Enabling students to access a broad, balanced and rich curriculum, which opens doors to further opportunities, is a key part of my role as Assistant Principal. I am proud to work with our talented middle leadership team to shape the content and sequencing of the experience of students in the classroom.

Part of my role at the academy is to work as a member of a much wider team to ensure our ethos pervades and that is to enable every student to achieve success and become a high achiever.

At Trinity Academy, we teach world class curriculums with the aim of supporting students to become confident, resilient, life-ready learners. It is my job to support students in choosing the right path for them, so they are able to develop and be successful in their futures. This involves ensuring that students transition from primary to secondary successfully, then helping students to make the right options choices in year 9 (following a period of information, advice and guidance). This information, advice and guidance then continues through Key Stage 4, whilst we open our students eyes to the world of work and help all our learners make plans for further study or training Post-16.

Assistant Principal – Student Support

As Assistant Principal (Student Support) my role is to have the strategic overview of Pupil Premium (PP) and SEND student provision and to ensure that the day-to-day care of students in these key groups is world class.

As Assistant Principal (Student Support) my role is to have the strategic overview of Pupil Premium (PP) and SEND student provision and to ensure that the day-to-day care of students in these key groups is world class. The impact of the hard work from students and staff can be felt around the school building. 52% of our student cohort is pupil premium, and our SEN K and E numbers are higher than national average.

When any student walks through our school doors, they succeed, no matter what. Everyone is equal and everyone is known, valued, and understood in the Trinity family. When it comes to supporting our SEND and PP students, no stone is left unturned.

To ensure students have the well-being support they need we have developed links with external providers to establish a network of provision to complement our internal offer. We are aiming to develop learners who can identify ways to support their own well-being through mechanisms of self-care to enable them to feel in control of their own well-being and mental health.

Finally, a focus on outcomes ensures that students leave us with excellent qualifications to reflect the excellent education they have received. The use of targeted interventions with our internal learning mentors and curriculum tutors, a long side our use of the National Tutoring Programme, ensures that students receive the academic interventions required to reach their full potential. This enables our students to leave us with qualifications that open doors to reach their ambitious aspirations.
